Membership Coordinator

The North Carolina Aquarium Society, the non-profit support group for the North Carolina Aquariums, is seeking applications for the position of Membership Coordinator. Essential Duties of the Position include: Manage the daily processing of membership applications and renewals, as they are submitted from the Aquariums, the website, US Mail, and by phone. Current memberships include more than 20,000 households and sales are trending upward. Hire, train, schedule and supervise one full-time and additional part-time membership associate employees, as needed, in the fulfillment of all membership/development activities in the Raleigh office. Respond to member and customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner via the toll-free number, email, and US mail. Maintain positive and professional dialogue with Aquarium staff regarding membership promotions, transactions, reports, and related issues. Excellence in customer service is a critical priority. Manage computer elements of the membership operation, including member database management, equipment functionality, software and equipment upgrades, Internet security, data security, and troubleshooting. Produce membership reports and tracking documents in a timely and professional manner. Liaison with Aquarium staff and Aquarium Society management to efficiently manage receipts, revenue data, and related business needs. Coordinate purchasing and inventory control of all membership materials, including stationery, brochures, postage, member cards and associated gift items. Assist with the oversight of ‘tribute’ gifts and donations, including sales, promotions, installation, tracking and reporting. These programs include Adopt-an-Animal programs, Angler’s Club, Own-A-Fish, and other promotions. Work with Aquarium Society management to innovate solutions, technologies, and processes to improve operational efficiencies and enhance the member’s experience. Education and Training: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
